WHAT CAN YOU SEE?

What we see in life determines what we get out of life. If you can not see a thing, then you can not get anything. God asked Jeremiah the prophet, what can you see? This is for us to know that even God expect us to see something. When Jesus made a mud on the floor and put it in the eyes of the blind man, He asked him, what can you see; and the man said I saw tree. Immediately Jesus knew that the man is not seen well, so He put another mud in his eyes and asked him again, what can you see; and the man said I see people. The same question goes for us, what can we see? What can you see?

God said to Abraham, as far as your eye can see I have given you as an inheritance. As far as you eye can see; so what can you see. The fastest way to travel in life is through the eye of your mind which is called imagination. Our imagination has the power to transform intangible things to tangible. Whatever you can not picture in your mind, and transfer into your brain cannot manifest in your body; that is why the Bible says as man thinks in his heart so is he. Meaning you are what you think you are. If you think you are poor, so you are poor, and then you will be poor; and if you think you are rich, so you are rich and then you will be rich.

According to a research, it was discovered that man is contained of three elements; the spirit, the soul and the body. In the book of Genesis, God first created the man and then God formed the man and breath into his nostril and man became a living being. Here is it, the man God created in body, the man God formed is the soul, while the breath God breath into the man’s nostril is the spirit because after then the Bible say and man became a living being. The spirit of man have the power to connect with the spirit of God and that is the supernatural blessings some people enjoy because their spirit bear witness with the spirit of God and the Spirit of God reveal all things to them. Only a regenerated soul can benefit from this awesome indescribable blessing of God. But there is a general platform God had made available for all, and that is the soul; even though the soul have the power to destroy man, it also have the power to make a man successful, because God said, I wish above all things that you prosper even as your soul is prospering; which means, the soul of man prospers on a continuous bases, no stopping. So, if our soul is prospering on a continuous bases, why is not manifesting in our body and in our life? The answer is our inability to see what is available for us. When man fell in the garden and pronounced cursed, God did not reverse the blessings He had pronounced on him earlier, He only attached a condition and that condition is only for the disobedience person not for all. So what can you see?

I grow up in a very terrible hostile environment. Because of my stubbornness, my people hate me with passion and if it is possible for them to kill me, I believe they will gladly do so. But, I was not stubborn because I wanted to. I just believe that, I am bigger on the inside than what people are seen on the outside; and that there is something within me that the whole world is waiting for. But because my people cannot see beyond themselves, they thought am crazy. Only God knows how many times my mother had disown me, and my father calling me bastard. But you know what, in all these, I hold on to what I see about my life and my future.

From age seven, I told myself the kind of woman I am going to marry. The type of wedding am going to have. The kind of house am going to leave. The kind of friends am going to keep. How I will be taking my wife to many place across the world. I thought of how am going to build schools from nursery to university, houses, hospitals for people across the world and make it free. I thought of hosting decision makers across the world on a dinner in my house every year where we are going to discourse the destiny of nations and the people living in that nation. You know, I love the story of Otunba Olasubomi Balogun, the chairman and the owner of First City Monumental Bank Plc; in his story which I read on Thisday Lawyer, Tuesday, September 23, 2008, he said “I went in first as a lawyer but had been exposed to finance. The course I went for in 1968 at the World Bank opportune me to work in offices of banks and stock brokers in New York and London. I came back and said I would not want to end up on the bench but as a business person, particularly what I saw in Wall Sreet New York…I wrote a note to my boss to convert ICON Securities to a bank and call it ICON Merchant Bank. I assured that with all the spade work I did I would be the head with my background. My boss said, not on your life, you’re only a lawyer, you can’t be Chief Executive of a bank. I took up the challenge and started reading up on investment banking. I decided to resign. I was determined, even if it meant drinking garri! After some prayers I went to Ikoyi Hotel and wrote my letter of resignation…in tears, I came to the office and said to my boss, you will hear from me! I threw my letter down and in tears went back. With Just N60,000, I set up a seed institution, a mustard seed that has now grown into an oak tree. I started the City Securities, then combine stock broking firm and issuing house, the first time a Nigerian ever did it. Subsequently I created Registrars. The Nigerian government did not believe a Nigeria should run a bank unless he had foreign partners, but I made up my mind to do it and I became the first Nigerian to be given a license to set up a bank without foreign technical partners. I made up my mind to be not only one of the best, but the biggest.”

Is it not obvious, that FCMB is one of the best banks in Nigeria? He sees the future, he painted the picture of the future to a man who could not even see his own nose, and all the man could do was to steal his dream from him, and also try to make him believe that there is no future in his picture. But Sir Olasubomi Balogun was more determined than he thought. He knew what he had seen. He knew what he believes and whom he belives and he told himself that the only hindrance to his future is not his boss, but himself; so he conquer himself and rubbish whatever his boss had said to him.

Now, ask yourself; what do I see about myself? If there is any man that will never forget me for the rest of his life is the Osile of Oke-Ona Egba, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso. In early 90s when it was so obvious that my parent will no longer support my education, I went to him for a financial assistance for my education, and after three or four letters and there was not reply, I wrote him the very last letter that cut his attention right. In that letter, I said to him “one day, I know am going to be great. So great that the nations will seek for my counsel and wisdom on all issues; then I will tell the whole world what you do for me today. You have a choice to support me now or to turn your back at me, but I want you to know that there is always tomorrow.” I wrote him the letter out of strong conviction of greater tomorrow and less than twenty four hours, his guards were in my school looking for him. Yes, he helped me then and I really appreciate him, but there was a governor in Ogun State then, whom I met Chief M.K.O. Abiola in his Ibara Housing Estate home in Abeokuta, and Chief M.K.O. Abiola wanted to help support my education to university but this governor prevented him from doing so. I later came down to Lagos, and been in Lagos then was more of been in hell, but I made up my mind to make the best use of every opportunity that cross my path and one step at a time, I was walking towards my dream.

In life you have to realize that not every one will believe or support your dream. Some people are out to kill your dream just like Sir Olasubomi Balogun’s boss, while some are there to give you all the support you can get like Oba Adedapo Tejuoso, while some like Chief M.K.O. Abiola wanted to help, but some people like the then governor will not let them. All these put together, you have to learn how to constantly telling yourself who you are and where you belong in life. Any successful person in any where across the world today is not better than you. Some of them did not even have the kind of opportunity you have today.

In our ministry, I tell our members that the day is coming, when the United States of American President will call our ministry and ask if there is anyone that can help borrow them money to stabilized their economy, and we will say to them just a minute, and we will just call one or two people and it will be done. I know you might be asking, who are you and who are your members that you want to borrow the United States of America money to stabilized their economy; well, my God made me understand that, I Sam Adeoye and all members of GoldenCity Assembly, both present and yet to come will leaned unto nations and will not borrow. In GoldenCity Assembly, the poorest of the poor among us is a Millionaire in Naira, Dollars, Pounds, Euro, and Yans. So, if God said nations, then it is nations. Which means, Europe will never escape borrowing from us; Asia will beg to get some, because God said nations not nation.

If you can not see great things about yourself and your future, then you can not handle great things. That is why it was said that, we can not but tell things that we have seen and handled the word of truth. You just have to see it first before you can handle it.

My best advice to you is for you to begin to paint the picture for your future now. My 40^th Birthday which is coming very soon is taking place at the White House in USA it is there writing bold on my office wall. Feel up all the empty walls in house with the words of what you want to see in your life. Look for magazines, look out for people you want to associate with and places you want to leave and visit. Leave your dream. Dream big. Enlarge your inner capacity. Stop putting limitation on your ability. You are bigger on the inside than you are on the outside.
